Wanchain Community,
The month of December was an exciting month for the Wanchain ecosystem as a whole. With the successful launch of Wanchain 5.0 just over a month ago, and the launch of the community-driven WanSwap we have seen some staggering results! Let’s dive into some updates and impressive milestones that ended the year with a bang!
With the first Storeman group going live on November 21st, we have seen the amount of Wan locked on Storemen soar to just over 10M! This brings us to a total of 32.1M Wan locked across Storeman and Proof of Stake! The second Storeman group selection began on January 1st, 2021, with the work cycle beginning on January 9th. WanLend, the first cross-chain lending platform built on Wanchain, went live on December 21st! This is the second major DeFi DApp to go live on Wanchain since the launch of Wanchain 5.0, the first being the Uniswap inspired AMM DEX, WanSwap. WanLend takes full advantage of Wanchain 5.0’s cross-chain features, allowing users to borrow and supply different cross-chain assets in a fully decentralized manner. WanLend is developed, deployed, and operated by WanLabs, and it is the first decentralized cross-chain lending application in the Wanchain ecosystem and will be available on Wan Wallet desktop and mobile in the near future. On December 3rd, the total locked value of wrapped WRC-20 tokens on Wanchain was just under $350k. Today that number is sitting at just under $3.5M, a ten-fold increase in a single month! WanSwap and WanLend have brought along a tremendous amount of cross-chain transactions and locked value to the Wanchain blockchain. WanSwap has also made its way to the Wanchain Light Wallet, and will be making its way to mobile very soon. If you fancy swapping assets on the go, keep a lookout for an update to our mobile wallet!
