Wanchain June 2019 🌞
Wanchain Community,
The month of June has been filled with activity from the Wanchain team. WAN Staking beta testing is now live, featuring a number of exciting developments including a major network performance boost, a totally redesigned Light Desktop Wallet, a major blockchain explorer update as well as the new WAN Stats platform. We've had an incredible response from our community with quite a bit of interest from all around the world! There are already 60 testnet Validator nodes up and running with over 100 successful delegations. We would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the beta testing so far and encourage you to take part if you haven't already! Parts four and five of our Galaxy Consensus technical deep dive have also been released by our research team. Be sure to take a look!
Recent Developments
Wanchain Proof of Stake Beta Testnet is Live!
Wanchain’s Staking beta testnet officially launched on June 26th, 2019, as part of the journey toward a full transition from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake!
PoS upgrade — Major performance boost
First, Wanchain's PoW-based test network is transitioning to PoS. This lays the foundation for the team to eventually switch the consensus mechanism on the main network. The beta version of the testnet has doubled the speed of block production, which means that the transaction throughput of the entire network has doubled, marking a giant step forward in performance. We will see staggering increases in TPS upon mainnet launch versus current performance, as our lab results have shown upwards of 3000 TPS and our private network is showing 1000+ TPS.
New Testnet PoS-enabled Light Desktop Wallet
— WARNING — This is still a testnet wallet. Do not send any mainnet tokens to addresses in this wallet.
Remember how fun it was syncing the full node on your Wanchain desktop wallet? No more! We’re very excited to introduce our all new desktop light wallet — Wan Wallet — with a modern, minimalist design and fast load time. In addition to the universal token transfer of our previous wallet releases, the new light wallet also provides an interface for PoS delegation (currently limited to the testnet).
The new light wallet can be used with all functions available before switching from POW to POS, PoS delegation feature works with existing validator nodes (They are already up and running but not participating in POS consensus protocol, since the switch from POW to POS didn’t occur yet).
Major Blockchain Explorer Update
The blockchain explorer has undergone a major overhaul. In addition to an updated design, the new explorer now includes a wide range of PoS related statistics including information about validator nodes, delegators, stake amount, delegation fees, and more.
WAN Stats Platform
The new WAN Stats platform makes it easy for users to obtain a detailed overview of the entire network and staking data. Through the platform, users can visually monitor the status of all validator nodes.

New additions to Wanchain Delegation Services
SNZ Holding Set to Join as a Wanchain Galaxy Consensus Validator
The Beijng and Shanghai based validator and crypto asset fund SNZ Holding has officially announced they will join Wanchain Galaxy Consensus as a Validator and is currently taking part in Galaxy Consensus open alpha. SNZ Holding will also take part in Galaxy Consensus beta starting in mid June. With the launch of Galaxy Consensus on the Wanchain mainnet, SNZ Holding will begin to offer WAN delegation services to WAN holders around the world.
Crypto Wallet & Blockchain Services Provider BEPAL Set to Operate Wanchain Galaxy Node
Comprehensive blockchain services provider BEPAL has officially announced that they will operate a Wanchain Galaxy Proof of Stake node, and will offer WAN delegation services through the BEPAL wallet when Galaxy Consensus goes live on the Wanchain mainnet later this year. BEPAL is currently taking part in the Galaxy Consensus alpha test, and is set to offer WAN asset support by 4th quarter this year. BEPAL will draw on their rich experience managing multiple crypto assets to develop their wallet as a comprehensive gateway to access various proof of stake functions.
A Double-Click on Wanchain’s 2019 Roadmap
2018 was a monumental first year for the Wanchain team, having delivered the three major product releases laid out in our original whitepaper including Wanchain 3.0 in December. In 2019, we’re putting our foot on the gas pedal, and an even more productive year is well underway. Below we expand on many of the milestones in our roadmap, and will also add some additional insights about our other plans for the year.
