Development Updates
Testnet Beta Release (mid December)
In preparation for the Wanchain 1.0 mainnet release in January 2018, we will be releasing our Beta Testnet on December 15th.
For the Beta release, we integrated all the issues reported from the Alpha Testnet release in early November and validated the scalability of the platform. The Beta platform will also deliver the Wallet and Explorer applications.
Unlike the Alpha Testnet release, we are opening up the Beta platform to all community members. We will continue to keep our bounty program for the Beta release as well, with more weightage given to those who issue valid pull requests.
More Beta details will be available in our December 11th update. Please standby for that.
Please note that we will announce the exact Wanchain 1.0 release date in the coming weeks.
Blockchain Interoperability Alliance
Wanchain, Icon and Aion held a joint presentation at the Consensus: Invest 2017 conference in New York on November 28th, 2017, where we announced the establishment of the Blockchain Interoperability Alliance. The announcement generated a spike in interest from across the blockchain community, partners and prospects.
“This alliance will foster the creation of robust ecosystem to solve the challenges around blockchain interoperability, which in turn will help organizations build interesting asset management cross-chain products on our platforms” said Dustin Byington, President of Wanchain (see picture below).
Team Updates
We commenced the expansion of Wanchain’s Business Center, based out of Austin, Texas. We hired our Director of Product and are in the process of building out marketing and application engineering teams.
Blockshow Asia
Jack Lu (Founder of Wanchain) attended the Blockshow Asia Conference in Singapore (29–30 November). Click here to see more details about the event: https://blockshowasia.com/.
Community Updates
As we approach the launch of Wanchain 1.0, we have started focusing tremendously on community expansion. In order to help us with this expansion, 12 new community managers have joined to help spread awareness of Wanchain in their respective regions.
The first local and virtual community managers to join the project come from the Netherlands, England, India, South Korea, Poland, Hong Kong, USA, China, Brazil and South Africa. They will play a key role in:
Rapidly responding to online community queries.
Maintaining a constant and professional online presence.
Representing Wanchain at events and conferences.
Creating and managing local meetup groups.
Scheduling Q&A sessions with virtual and local communities.
Organizing competitions.
