Dear Wanchain Community,
As the year comes to a close, let’s take some time to reflect on all the major developments and heaps of progress achieved throughout the year. Wanchain certainly never sleeps! Let’s dive right in.
February
The new and improved Multichain Bridges with Shared Asset Staking goes live on mainnet. All the WanBridges’ staking assets are now shared in the same collateral pool.
March
The world's very first Bitcoin to Ethereum direct bridge goes live, powered by Wanchain! This means that BTC can be directly transferred to the Ethereum network without requiring any intermediary blockchain to serve as a router.
Binance Smart Chain decentralized bridge to Ethereum is integrated, allowing tokens to be moved to and from BSC/Ethereum in a truly decentralized fashion.
April
The XRP Ledger Integration goes live bringing XRP into the vast world of DeFi. XRP to Ethereum and XRP to Wanchain bridges enable a truly decentralized way of putting your XRP to work across multiple DeFi Dapps.
The “Jupiter” hard fork makes Wanchain fully compatible with Ethereum. Full EVM compatibility enables seamless migration of Ethereum DApps to Wanchain, including but not limited to MetaMask, Remix, and Truffle.
May
Wanchain makes crosschain more accessible to newcomers by introducing the Universal Crosschain Faucet which gives first-time crosschain users some WAN for gas fees to get started with the Wanchain ecosystem.
June
The Litecoin Integration goes live allowing LTC to take advantage of the world of DeFi and start earning high yields from a variety of staking and farming applications connected to Wanchain’s crosschain infrastructure.
July
A new Wanscan update brings along new stats showing total crosschain value minted and total accumulated crosschain volume amongst other things. All transaction data can now also be exported from Wanscan.
August
Wanchain Integrates with Moonbeam to Boost the DeFi Ecosystem in Kusama via Moonriver allowing developers on Kusama access to Wanchain’s decentralised bridges to build crosschain applications.
September
New WanBridge Web introduces a simple yet intuitive UI design and streamlined browser-based crosschain interface. This makes it easy for users to complete crosschain transactions directly from their web browsers.
WanBridge Web Mobile lands, bringing crosschain transactions to mobile devices as more and more people become fully mobile dependant.
Avalanche C-chain is integrated into Wanchains crosschain architecture and Wanchain and Avalanche team up to further the development of truly decentralised crosschain applications to power the future of DeFi.
October
Wanchain launches the first crosschain Polkadot bridge, bringing EVM smart contracts to Polkadot allowing developers on Ethereum, Wanchain, Avalanche, Moonriver, and more to integrate DOT into their applications using Wanchain’s decentralised blockchain interoperability solution.
November
Wow! Dogechain joins Wanchain’s decentralized crosschain architecture allowing users to transfer Doge between Wanchain, Avalanche, and Moonriver.
WanBridge for Fantom goes live, allowing FTM transfers between Fantom, Wanchain, and Moonriver. FTM can also be directly bridged to Moonriver without using Wanchain as a relay. The power of direct bridges!
December
Wanchain joins forces with Polygon to usher in a new era of blockchain interoperability, the Polygon <-> Arbitrum Layer 2-to-Layer 2 crosschain bridge. Polygon and Wanchain foresee a future where multiple Layer-2 solutions will co-exist and will need to allow assets, data, and commands to transfer directly from one Layer 2 blockchain to another. This reinforces Wanchain’s position as the world’s most advanced crosschain solution.
A word from the Wanchain Team
As we close the year with almost $400M in total crosschain volume, we look forward to an exciting new year ahead with many groundbreaking updates to disrupt the crypto space even further. A big thank you to the Wanchain community for all the continued support over the years, without your support, we wouldn’t be where we are today!
Happy holidays and see you in the next update!
